Hello, I have never made cosmetics before. I just found this website. Before this, I followed their YouTube channel where they shared basic knowledge about making serums, creams, and soaps from ready-made bases. I know the basics, but I have very little knowledge. I am interested in ordering ingredients from this website to try mixing them according to my own formulas to study and learn more. However, I still lack experience and do not understand the knowledge. I would like to ask the team and experts.
1. Normally, we should put the main substance and other compounds in no more than how many percent of the weight of the cream that we want? Does putting in too many substances affect the skin texture, clogging of the skin, or causing irritation? (Not including the allergic reaction to which substance) How many types of ingredients should be put in the cream? For example, if we want to make a 50 ml whitening cream for the face, how many ingredients related to whitening should be put in?
2. What principle will we use to add that type of ingredient to our cream? What is the method or principle for selecting it? Because there are many ingredients that give the same result, such as preservatives, there are many preservatives. How many should be added to cover it all? Or should we add just one? Because we saw some ingredients that the team commented that they should add at least 3 preservatives together, such as vitamin A.
3. Ask about the calculation principles, such as if you want to make a whitening skin care cream for your face with a quantity of 50 g, if we divide the ingredients as follows, each ingredient will be used at the highest rate % as suggested in the comments in the product details.
1. Satin Cream Maker ™ = 50 g (100% calculated from the total weight of cream to be made: 50 g)
2. Whitening agent number 1 = 1.25 g (calculated from the weight of cream 50 g x the raw material to be used 2.5%)
3. The second whithening agent = 1.50 g (calculated from the weight of cream 50 g x 3% of the ingredients to be used)
4. Moisturizer = 1.75g (calculated from the weight of cream 50 g x the raw material to be used 3.5%)
5. Preservative = 0.05 g (calculated from the weight of cream 50 g x the raw material to be used 0.1%)
6. Anti-irritant = 1g (calculated from the weight of cream 50 g x 2% of the ingredients to be used)
From the case of the 6 raw materials above, there are items that need to be mixed with other solvents, such as item 2, which uses WhiteCumin ™ 2x at 2.5% from the weight of the cream to be made = use in an amount of 1.25g, but for the 1.25g part, since it is written that it can be dissolved in water, will we use the solvent Dimethyl Isosorbide (DMI) to dissolve the WhiteCumin ™ 2x 1.25g part, or can it be put in item 1 directly because in part 1 it can directly dissolve substances that are both water and oil?
The calculation of these 6 items is based on the total weight of the total amount to be made. Is this calculation correct? I still cannot specify which ingredients to add, but it is a preliminary calculation to calculate how many grams of ingredients to buy. If the calculation is complete, I would like to ask the team to help review the recipe again.
4. I saw that there are some products that are ready-made creams that can be used right away. They will have a name that says compare with... depending on the brand that is doing the comparison. I am interested in trying to buy a small amount to use myself (about no more than 100 grams). I am not sure if the company has registered those products with the FDA and has received allergy certification or not.
If there are any errors, please give me some advice.
Thank you in advance.
