Polyglyceryl-10 Caprylate/Caprate is a natural-derived, nonionic emulsifier used to help bind oil and water in oil-in-water cosmetic systems. With an HLB value of approximately 14.5, it is useful for lotions, creams, cleansing products, solubilizing-style systems, and formulas that need a mild, broadly compatible emulsifier.
Because it is nonionic, it is easier to combine with many common cosmetic ingredients than charged emulsifiers. The raw material is derived from natural-origin feedstocks that undergo chemical processing, so it is best positioned as natural-derived rather than 100% natural.
Use: Oil-in-water emulsifier and water-oil binding aid for cosmetic formulations.
Mixing method: Add into the oil phase or pre-blend with the oil components before emulsification, then combine with the water phase under suitable mixing. Validate final emulsion stability, viscosity, odor, pH, and compatibility in the exact formula.
Usage rate: 1-6%.
