Hexylresorcinol AF is a water soluble version of 4-Hexylresorcinol, is an alkylresorcinol with many skin benefits:
- Whitening Care
- Age-spot treatment
- Photo-aging, brightening/lightening Care
- Underarm and bikini area spots
- Ethnic skin Care
Description:
Hexylresorcinol AF is a naturally effective cosmetic ingredient for the reduction of skin dark spots and skin whitening, without irritation effects. It has a significant reducing effect on tyrosinase activity and works synergistically on the three stages of the melanogenesis process:
- Before melanin synthesis: Interferes in the synthesis and glycosylation of tyrosinase, preventing its absorption by the melanosome.
- During melanin synthesis: Acts as a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase, also affecting TRP1 and TRP2 enzymes, reducing melanogenesis-promoting byproducts.
- After melanin synthesis: Enhances tyrosinase degradation, inhibits melanosome transfer to keratinocytes, and offers light peeling thanks to the fatty acids.
Benefits:
- Decreases melanin formation at the early stage of synthesis
- Reduces melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity in skin melanocytes
- Reduces melanosome transfer to keratinocytes
- Promotes desquamation of superficial horny layers and melanin pigmentary residues
- Non-irritating effect
Clinical Efficacy Tests:
1. Whitening Effect:
Melanin synthesis inhibition vs Hydroquinone on melanocyte cell culture.
2. Tyrosinase Inhibition:
Spectrophotometric assay vs Kojic acid and Hydroquinone - 100% inhibition at 0.001%.
3. In-Vivo Whitening Efficacy:
20 volunteers, T=4 weeks - 94.6% inhibition (0.15 mg/L Hexylresorcinol AF).
Usage: Ingredients in any whitening formulation
Mixing method: Soluble in water
Usage rate: 1-3%
Product characteristics: Clear transparent light colored liquid
Solubility: Can dissolve in water
Storage: Shelf life: 24 months, stored at cold temperature. Avoid sunlight and heat.
INCI Name : Polysorbate 20, Hexylresorcinol, Caprylic Acid, Isopropyl alcohol, Peg-400, Caproic Acid, Capric Acid.
