It must be created from essential fatty acids. GLA is not found in general oil plants or may be found in very little. The percentage of GLA in borage juice is higher than in evening primrose oil.         

Borage oil is beneficial for the skin because it contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an important raw material for the creation of many beneficial substances in cells, helping to maintain the balance of cell functions. GLA is ideal for dry and rough skin, brittle and easily broken nails, thinning and dull hair, and dandruff can lead to more serious skin conditions such as itching, eczema, or psoriasis.
