Additional research articles Please see the attached document.

Here's a technical summary of the key points from the document:

1. Study evaluating the effects of picolinamide 5% cream versus hydroquinone 2% cream in treating epidermal melasma.

2. Enroll 30 patients with epidermal blemishes and measure melanin levels in the epidermis using a colorimeter. and take pictures before and after 8 weeks of treatment

3. The patient applies picolinamide cream to one side of the face. and apply hydroquinone cream on the other side.

4. After 8 weeks, the average melanin level in the epidermis was significantly reduced by approximately 20% on both sides compared to baseline. There were no significant differences between the picolinamide and hydroquinone-treated sides.

5. After treatment, no significant difference was found in the occurrence of erythema (redness) of the skin on both sides.

6. As melanin levels decrease Clinical improvement in melasma as assessed by dermatologists and patients was not considered significant.

7. The results showed that picolinamide 5% cream had a depigmentation effect equivalent to hydroquinone 2% without causing significant skin irritation. Further research is warranted to optimize formulation and treatment duration.

In conclusion, this pilot study provides preliminary evidence that topical picolinamide cream may be a suitable alternative to hydroquinone in the treatment of epidermal melasma.
