Octyl methoxycinnamate or abbreviation OMC or OM-Cinnamate or Octinoxate is an organic sunscreen. Derived from Cinnamic Acid (an acid found in the Cinnamon plant) that is effective in protecting against UVB light.
Popularly called by trade names UVINUL MC80, Octinoxate or EHMC.
OMC can protect against UV at wavelengths in the range 290-330nm, which is the wavelength of UVB.

Europe, Australia (including Thailand): not more than 10%
Japan: no more than 20%
USA: not more than 7.5%
*OMC cannot be used with Avobenzone as it will make Avobenzone unstable*
*OMC should be used together with antioxidants in the formula, such as adding Vitamin E Acetate 0.1% to help increase stability*
*Using a large proportion of OMC in the formula. It will make the formula shiny. When applied to the skin because OMC has a high refractive index*
Usage rate: 1-10%
Appearance: Oily liquid It is light yellow.
Mixing: Mix in oil.
Storage: Store at room temperature. Avoid sunlight. Shelf life: 3 years.
