Cerasoft™ is an emollient that combines glutamic acid (an amino acid that is an important component of the skin) with phytosterol (similar to cholesterol but found in plants), creating a structure that is similar to the skin's natural ceramide.
Cerasoft™ therefore provides these properties to the skin or to the formulation when used in cosmetic formulations:
- Moisturizes the skin (emollient, moisturization), restores the skin barrier.
- Can provide gloss and help distribute pigments to make-up formulas.
- Provides a good touch when on the skin, both smooth, non-sticky and moisturizing feeling.
- Use in make-up products helps increase pay-off (or the adhesion of make-up to the surface it is applied to) and helps to stabilize solid formulations such as lip balms and lip sticks, reducing the chance of recrystallization.
