Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) (2800mPa.s)
- Product Code: 7461
HEC creates a gel texture. Without the effect of electrolyte, suitable for creating gel texture in formulas with special electrolyte properties. To help create bubbles In skin cleaning formulas such as shampoo or liquid soap, it is commonly used to create a gel texture in shampoo or liquid soap.
Provides a viscosity of 3,400-5,000 mPa•s (cPs) at the level of 1% in water.

Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) creates a non-ionic gel texture without the effects of electrolyte. Suitable for use in creating gel textures in formulas containing electrolyte.
Please use it to create a gel texture in cleaning formulas (shampo, liquid soap). We recommend using HPMC because it can help increase foam.
Specifications
-Provides a viscosity of 2,800 mPa•s (cPs) at the level of 1% in water.
- Dissolves and forms a gel at a temperature of approximately 70 degrees and dissolves well at a pH higher than 7 (use an alkali such as Triethanolamine helps adjust the pH value up. Once dissolved, the pH can be adjusted down later.)
-Can be used in formulas that are acidic as low as pH 3 and alkaline as low as pH 9.
-No smell
How to use:
Warm the water to 70 degrees, blend the water and slowly sprinkle the HEC powder into the hot water and blend continuously until completely dissolved. You will get a gel texture / or / blend to distribute in cold water. Then heat it up to 70 degrees while continuing to spin. When it's hot 70 degrees then turn off the heat Blend continuously until cool.
The company sells various types of non-ionic gel-forming substances as follows:
1. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC, USA) is a gel-forming agent that gives a beautiful gel texture and is easy to use.
2. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC, China) is a low-cost gelling agent. Can provide high thickness
3. Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC, USA) is a gel-forming agent that gives a beautiful gel texture, is easy to use, and has a medium thickness.
Usage: for all kinds of products who want to increase viscosity Increase gel texture (thickening)
Mixing method: Mix in water (water-phase), requiring heating to 70 degrees and stirring continuously. until a gel texture forms
Usage rate: 0.5-3% (depending on desired viscosity)
Product appearance: white powder
Solubility: Can be dissolved in warm water (70 degrees).
Storage: For long-term storage Store at room temperature. Do not expose to sunlight. and avoid humidity
INCI Name : Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC)
