Aluminum Zirconium is widely used in anti-perspirant formulation. It performs better than Aluminum Chlorohydrate
Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly, Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly, Aluminum Zirconium Octachlorohydrex Gly, and Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrex Gly are all types of aluminum zirconium-based antiperspirant ingredients.
The key differences between them are:
Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly:
Contains 3 chlorine atoms in the zirconium portion of the molecule.
This is the most commonly used form of aluminum zirconium-based antiperspirants.
Provides a moderate level of sweat and odor protection but better than Aluminum Chlorohydrate.
Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly:
Contains 4 chlorine atoms in the zirconium portion of the molecule.
This is the most commonly used form of aluminum zirconium-based antiperspirants.
Provides a good level of sweat and odor protection.
Aluminum Zirconium Octachlorohydrex Gly:
Contains 8 chlorine atoms in the zirconium portion of the molecule.
Provides a higher level of sweat and odor protection compared to the tetrachlorohydrex form.
May be better suited for people with very heavy perspiration.
Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrex Gly:
Contains 5 chlorine atoms in the zirconium portion of the molecule.
Provides a level of sweat and odor protection in between the tetra- and octa-chlorohydrex forms.
May be a good option for people who find the tetrachlorohydrex form too weak but the octachlorohydrex form too strong.
Compare the effectiveness of preventing sweat (anti-sweat) and preventing odor formation. Arrange from least to greatest:
Aluminum Chlorohydrate < Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex GLY < Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY < Aluminum Zirconium Pentachlorohydrex GLY < Aluminum Zirconium Octachlorohydrex GLY
Use: mixed in cosmetics Stop sweat and body odor.
How to mix: Mix in alcohol or water or powder.
Utilization rate: 5-25% (FDA requires that the use does not exceed 25%)
Product characteristics: white powder
Solubility: soluble in water
Storage: Tightly closed lid. Protect from air, light and moisture. Shelf life at least 3 years.
INCI Name : Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex GLY
