How to melt Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer?

Postby mirarazmi » Mon Mar 06, 2023 5:28 pm

Hi,

I did a test batch of 20g and tried mixing 2% Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer in a mixture of polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate and Diisostearyl Malate on heat but it did not want to melt completely creating this lumpy liquid. I heated until 120 celcius and kept stirring but it still could not melt. What am I doing wrong and what is the correct way of mixing it? Please help. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you so much!

Diisostearyl Malate and  Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate  should be able to thicken by Oil Thick™ Soft and Oil Thick™ Transparent
