Pro Polymer™ (Gel Maker)

  • Product Code: 234

Acts as a Gel Maker with high electrolyte resistance and can be used in a wide pH range of 2 - 8. It has a texture similar to using Hyaluronic Acid, giving the skin a sticky feeling in the first 30 seconds of application on the skin. Then the surface will be coated thinly. When completely dry

Pro Polymer, a gel-forming substance have special characteristics That is, with the mechanism of creating a gel texture with a Polymeric structure.

Pro Polymer can be used in skin scrub formulas that require beads. Because it can create gel texture. that has a high viscosity To be able to confine the beads and prevent them from precipitating. without making the skin sticky

Pro Polymer can create a creamy pudding texture. (cream or gel texture that looks like pudding) using high amounts >3%

Pro Polymer has a texture similar to using Hyaluronic Acid Large Molecular Weight, giving the skin a sticky feeling in the first 30 seconds of application on the skin. Then the surface will be coated thinly. When completely dry

Pro Polymer has good electrolyte resistance.

What is an electrolyte and what should I do if there is an electrolyte in the formula?

Electrolyte substances are any substances that have Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium in them. When creating a cream with electrolyte in the formula, the cream will soften (more liquid). The viscosity of the cream can also be increased. Using a larger amount of Pro Polymer™ (e.g. from the normal 1% must be increased to 2-3%)

Additional steps In the case that the formula contains a large amount of electrolyte

Mix according to the various steps until complete. By separating ingredients that contain electrolyte first, for example, in formulas containing Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Zinc PCA, separate these ingredients. Don't just mix it at any stage. You have to mix it to get a gel texture first. Most importantly, you should use a larger amount of Pro Polymer than normal. For example, normally use 1% and get the desired thick gel texture. If there is electrolyte, increase Pro Polymer to 2-3% (depending on the amount of electrolyte ingredients used) after which the gel has been made. Add these electrolyte-containing ingredients to the formula and observe the change in gel texture. If it softens too much, you can add Pro Polymer later. But if Pro Polymer is added later, it will take time to dissolve and form a gel. and more energy for spinning or stirring

Usage: As a thickener to create a gel texture. to water-based gel formulas and create a creamy texture in water + oil formulas

Mixing method: Mix in water (water-phase) by sprinkling the powder on the liquid that needs to increase viscosity, then slowly stir for 3-5 minutes, no need to use cooling or heating. Stir until you have a smooth gel texture. Shouldn't be over blended. 2500 rpm This will damage the polymer and weaken the formula.

Because Pro Polymer may take time to dissolve. It is recommended to mix this way. To reduce the use of high power in spinning

    1. In the case that the formula contains glycerin or propylene glycol in amounts higher than 5%, take Pro Polymer and mix it in glycerin or propylene glycol well first, then mix it with the water portion. and blend together

    2. In the case where the formula contains only water Keep spinning continuously. Then gently sprinkle it into the formula a little at a time. Once it has spread throughout the water, do not continue blending. Leave it for 1 day to allow the Pro Polymer to fully absorb the water. Then slowly blend it. Will be able to dissolve easily

Usage rate: 0.5-5% (use an increased amount when there is more Electrolyte in the formula. Recommended 0.8% for general gel texture. high level of use The resulting gel will be hard, similar to pudding, not suitable for general use)

Product characteristics: white powder, light weight

    Solubility: Can dissolve in water

Storage: Can be stored at room temperature. But close the bottle cap tightly. Then completely protected from sunlight or heat. Do not expose to moisture. (Please store in the envelope that comes with a moisture-proof envelope.) The product has a minimum shelf life of 2 years. *In the case of being exposed to moisture The substance will coagulate. which can still be used But it will take a lot longer to blend or stir to dissolve*
